The emails were not marked as classified, though the Federal Bureau of Investigation later found classified information contained in some emails recovered from Weiner's laptop. But here we have evidence from 2010 of Abedin forwarding classified documents from the secret server to an account called "Anthony Campaign" which is presumably the email account on her husband's laptop.
Of the 2,800 emails the State Department released Friday, only a few were classified.
Though neither Abedin nor Weiner was identified by name in the search warrant documentation, and the court ordered the materials redacted, the affidavit in support of the warrant makes clear that the Federal Bureau of Investigation argued that there was further probable cause to search Weiner's hard drive in light of the fact that Abedin and Clinton previously exchanged classified emails.
A November 2010 email was partially redacted due to "classified" and "confidential" information. Not only that, but at least four of these documents were marked "classified".
"One notable document told Clinton to warn Al-Saud of an impending leak of "'details of private conversations with your government on Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan" that would be released by WikiLeaks.
The classified and heavily redacted emails discovered on Weiner's computer concerned discussions about Hamas, the Palestine Liberation Organization, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and United Arab Emirates officials. In September, Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to sending obscene material to a 15-year-old girl.

Cubillo also reportedly described the pilot, Juan Manuel Retana, as an experienced professional. A mother, father and their three children from Scarsdale, New York, were aboard the plane.
"Love when people send her schedule stuff direct", Abedin sarcastically wrote in an email to a colleague in December 2011, after someone emailed Clinton directly to ask her to speak at a conference.
Abedin has since filed for divorce.
The emails played a significant role in the 2016 election, as the discovery on Weiner's computer in October pushed Comey to announce he was reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server and her handling of classified information when she served as secretary of state. It's a non-story that's part of a non-scandal involving a non-FBI person of interest - a ideal metaphor for how the entire email episode disappears down the rabbit hole.
Also in that hearing, Comey testified that Abedin forwarded "hundreds of thousands" of messages involving Clinton - some of which contained classified information - to her husband so he could print them out.
"This is a major victory", Fitton said in a statement. What's more, all 12 email chains had been previously reviewed by investigators.
Clinton's team has partly blamed what has become known as "the Comey letter" for her defeat to Donald Trump days later.
