Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have also been rumoured to be attached to the project, which is apparently set to involve two main male roles.
Director Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Charles Manson-era movie just added some star power with five-time Academy Award nominee Leonardo DiCaprio signing on, Deadline reports. DiCaprio will reunite with his Django Unchained director for a film set in 1969 against the backdrop of the Manson Family murder of actress Sharon Tate and several other people at her home in Los Angeles.
DiCaprio has been reportedly been cast as an aging actor in Tarantino's new film. Despite the film revolving around the Manson Family murders, Charles Manson himself will not be a lead character but more a background player.
The upcoming film, Tarantino's ninth, is set to release on August 9, 2019, Deadline reported Friday, exactly 50 years after members of the Manson Family cult murdered actress Sharon Tate and four other guests at her house. "His sidekick-who's also his stunt double-is looking for the same thing". Whatever the content of it is, it's recently kicked off an almighty bidding war amongst studios - unsurprisingly. This is Tarantino's ninth film.
Turkey Summons Russian, Iranian Envoys Over Syria Safe Zone Violation
Cavusoglu repeated Turkey's red line over its presence in Sochi by saying that: "We have said we will not be in any environment... where the YPG is present".
However, in the same way that InglouriousBasterds wasn't just a movie about Hitler, Tarantino's movie isn't thought to be focused exclusively around Manson or Tate.
The project will be DiCaprio's first film since winning the Oscar for "The Revenant".
All of Tarantino's past work has been distributed by The Weinstein Company and, well...nobody wants that guy's name stuck on the front of their movie these days, so Quentin has shopped the film around Hollywood.
