The Israeli army, for its part, said the Palestinian was killed after he stabbed and lightly wounded a security guard in the community of Karmei Tzur in Hebron.
Clashes also broke out in the contact points in Halhul town, north of Hebron, as the soldiers raided a number of houses belonging to the Zamaa'ra family in the town. Another security guard opened fire on the assailant and killed him, it said.
