Duncan Robinson scored 19 points off the bench and No. 17 MI recorded its fourth straight victory, downing Penn State 72-63 on Wednesday at Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pa. Jordan Poole connected on both of his three point attempts and ended the night with 13 points, including a 3-3 from the charity stripe. Zavier Simpson chipped in nine points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals while Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman added nine points for MI.
Simon added a huge second quarter with seven points to finish with a team-high nine in the in the half, while adding three rebounds.
This intrasquad scrimmage allows the team to give fans a preview of what is to come this fall, when Penn State hosts its opener against Appalachian State on September 1.
Bench scoring was controlled by Penn State with 34 points off the bench compared to Michigan's 6 points. Poole scored eight points in 12 first-half minutes and finished with 13.
Penn State was playing its third straight ranked opponent. The Huskers moved into a tie for second place in the Big Ten trailing only No. 14 Ohio State, which clinched a share of the conference title with its win on Wednesday night.
MI had their best run in the 1st Half with 3:06 on the clock.

Penn State, a team that has played itself into at least being in the conversation for an NCAA Tournament berth because of a strong second half, has opportunity knocking with a chance to earn what would assuredly be a resume-boosting win. Against Wisconsin, the Wolverines made 70% of their free throw attempts.
Penn State will take on Nebraska on the road at 5:15 p.m. Sunday in its final game of the regular season.
