Qatar Airways is known for its commitment to global firsts; in addition to being the global launch customer for the A350-1000, the airline was also the global launch customer for the A350-900 in 2014. "Today's delivery is a testa-ment to Qatar Airways' commitment to continued expansion".
Installing the new seats proved to be more complex than originally anticipated, however, any issues seem to be resolved as the suites are featured on the first aircraft, A7-ANA, and will be onboard all upcoming A350-900 and A350-1000 deliveries to Qatar.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: "We are truly thrilled to welcome to Doha the newest and most technologically advanced commercial aircraft in the world, the very first Airbus A350-1000".
"This remarkable state-of-the-art aircraft will be the first of 42 to be flown on our expanding global route network", Akbar Al Barker, Qatar's CEO, said at a press conference in Toulouse.

Asked if there was room for a larger version than what they have developed, head of A350 marketing Marisa Lucas-Ugena told reporters in Toulouse that Airbus remains focused on the A350-900 and A350-1000.
Currently, Qatar's fleet exceeds 200 aircraft, including nine Airbus A380s, twenty-one A350-900s, four A340-600s, thirteen A330-300s, thirteen A330-200s, seven A321-200s, thirty-nine A320s and two A319LRs. It is created to seat up to 366 people in a two-class layout, against the -900's 325 seat capacity. Currently, the airline has 36 more A350-1000s on order.
But sales of the 777-300ER have picked up, and Boeing is working on plans to leapfrog the A350-1000 with an upgraded 777X boasting over 400 seats. The other version of the Trent XWB, rated at 84,000lb, powers the A350-900 which first entered service in January 2015, again with Qatar Airways.
The A350-1000 is Airbus' largest widebody twin, offering a range of 8,000nm (14,800 km) at entry into service. Qatar Air-ways operates six daily flights between Doha and London Heathrow Airport. The airline is launch-ing a host of exciting new destinations planned for 2018, including Thessaloniki, Greece and Cardiff, U.K, to name just a few.
