Chalk up another deal for new Browns general manager John Dorsey, who has been amazingly active since Friday.
Shelton, who played only 44% of the Browns' snaps last season according to profootballreference.com, is better suited to the Patriot's 3-4 scheme, and the Browns have a lot of young tackles who have made a strong case for reps.
The Pats should be all set at the defensive tackle position.
Patriots acquired DT Danny Shelton and a 2018 fifth-round pick from the Browns in exchange for the Patriots' third-round pick in 2019.

The BJP held two of the seats that go to poll, with Basavaraj Patil Sedam and R Ramakrishna retiring. There are four seats getting vacant in Gujarat and all are BJP MPs.
Shelton, 24, has recorded 71 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 46 career games since being selected by Cleveland with the 12th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Shelton, a three-year National Football League veteran, has one year remaining on his rookie deal. New England will also have the option to pick up the fifth year of his deal, which means they could end up having him locked up under his rookie deal through the 2019 season. In 2018, Shelton will be making just over $2 million. While there is still some work to do on the defensive side of the ball, getting Shelton is certainly a good start.
Updated via @FieldYates and me: Browns trade Danny Shelton and a 5th round pick in "18 for the Patriots" 3rd l-round pick in "19". He had 34 tackles in 14 contests last season.
Shelton joins a defensive tackle group led by fellow 2015 first-round pick Malcolm Brown, along with fellow tackles Lawrence Guy and Vincent Valentine. As of now, it is unclear if New England will exercise that option.
