Darnold will be the 14th USC quarterback drafted into the National Football League, joining Matt Cassel, Matt Barkley and Cody Kessler, who are now on National Football League rosters.
Just how big of a concern should Josh Allen's low completion percentage at Wyoming be as the Cleveland Browns and other teams consider taking him high in the 2018 NFL Draft? Will the Cards pull the trigger on a trade in order to get their guy?
What could those trades look like?
These are not predictions.
The Cleveland Browns are less than a week away from transforming their roster.
But the reality is this: Maccagnan can't not take a quarterback - even if his choices are Mayfield and Rosen.
Missouri Gov. Greitens indicted on felony computer-tampering charge
He has called her a "reckless liberal prosecutor" for leading the investigation that resulted in the invasion-of-privacy charge. Louis Post-Dispatch reported this year that Greitens' former assistant sent the fundraising list to the Greitens campaign.
Why would the Browns move back? However, they are interesting to take into account because Mayock is one of the most respected draft analysts in the game. He could use them both or sell one off as part of another deal, perhaps to land an established veteran like Odell Beckham. Then they can accumulate some picks and still find a player that fills a need later in the first or early in the second.
The New York Giants are said to love the idea of adding Barkley to their offense. I'm not necessarily saying that Mason Rudolph or Luke Falk will overtake No. 1 pick Sam Darnold/Josh Allen/Baker Mayfield/Josh Rosen, but of course it's possible. Which means the Browns would have to go to plan 1A with the fourth pick. Nassib is now superfluous, but he fits the Lions needs well.
If he's not the actual pick come draft day, I'll be surprised.
Drafting a passer, whether it's Mayfield or another, now affords the Jets the opportunity to mold a franchise quarterback instead of rushing him under center while plastering large and unrealistic expectations on him and a rebuilding team. If they go to No. 6, he said, and quarterbacks go with the first three picks, they'd still be able to get one of the top three non-quarterbacks: Saquon Barkley, Bradley Chubb or Quenton Nelson.
"I think that the devaluing of the running back is really a myth", Gettleman said.
So there's strong, recent evidence that suggests selecting a backup quarterback in the draft and parking him on the bench could increase his value to your team.
