"President Trump and President Moon will continue their close coordination on developments regarding the Korean Peninsula following the April 27 inter-Korean Summit", the statement continued.
Friday, the White House announced Moon Jae-In will visit Washington DC on May 22nd.
Preparations for a Trump-Kim meeting have gained momentum since the Korean summit a week ago, which saw Pyongyang and Seoul promise to pursue the complete denuclearization of the peninsula and a permanent peace.
Trump and President Moon Jae-in's meeting marks the third summit for the pair.
North Korea is not the only country to have used time to assert its national identity. Park swore to "let North Koreans know the truth" and "bring an end to the North's Kim Jong Un regime". "We're doing very well with the hostages, we're in constant contact with the leadership, we're in constant contact with North Korea", the president said on the tarmac at Andrews Air Force Base. Moon also said that Kim does not view the removal of USA troops from South Korea as a precondition of him removing nuclear weapons from the peninsula.
US National Security Advisor John Bolton earlier denied as "utter nonsense" a New York Times report saying Trump had asked the Pentagon for options to prepare for drawing down the 28,500-strong US force.
Trump has said the United States should consider reducing the number of troops in South Korea unless South Korea shoulders more of the cost.
A possible meeting between Trump and Kim came to light following a trip then-CIA Director Mike Pompeo took to the rogue nation over Easter weekend. Kim Hak Song and Tony Kim, both of whom worked at Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, have been detained for about one year.
"Given this is only a conciliatory move in the build-up to the summit, I think the meeting is likely to produce something more concrete", he said.
