Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigators on Wednesday questioned White House senior adviser Jared Kushner about a potential collusion with Russian Federation, his contacts with foreign nationals and potential obstruction issues, which also include the firing of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey.
The special counsel's investigation had not caused the delay, said Mr. Kushner's lawyer, Abbe D. Lowell.
But Kushner's permanent clearance was granted after career officials completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation background check process, according to the person familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
The news of the Mueller interview comes as ABC News has learned Kushner has been granted a permanent security clearance on Wednesday after a lengthy review by the White House and Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to a source familiar with the matter.

"On each occasion, he answered all questions asked and did everything he could to expedite the conclusion of all the investigations".
Kushner's lawyer said Wednesday that Kushner completed the background check process that began a year ago.

"Having completed all of these processes, he is looking to continue to do the work the President has asked him to do".
Kushner was one of many White House officials who had been operating for months on interim clearances. But those were not the only issues delaying Kushner's clearance.
