Barr's show was cancelled by ABC on Tuesday after she tweeted out that former Obama White House aide Vallerie Jarrett looked like the offspring of "the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes". The decision to cancel Roseanne was made by Channing Dungey, the first African-American president of a major TV network.
Barr had earlier apologized to members of the cast and crew, but the tweet was deleted.
Barr later thanked one of her fans for defending her, writing, "I'm not a racist, just an idiot who made a bad joke. thank you for defending me tho".
Sara Gilbert, who played the role of Darlene on Roseanne, said that Barr's comments were "abhorrent" and that she was "disappointed" with Barr. She criticized Democratic financier George Soros and tweeted that Chelsea Clinton was "Chelsea Soros Clinton", implying she was married to a nephew of Soros.
Barr showed no signs of abandoning Twitter, engaging in a series of tweets that apologized to those who lost their jobs because of the "Roseanne" cancellation and expressed remorse she was being branded a racist.

On the contrary, Fox News guest Noelle Nikpour seemed to disagree with the commentator and refused to deem the tweet as racist by blaming it on a "politically correct" world.
But then she deleted her retweet of that post. "Or every black parent I know who has a boy who has to sit down and have a conversation, "the talk" as we call it".
