Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah will commence his treatment of shoulder injury in Spain on Tuesday, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Monday. Being unable to continue, the tearful Salah was replaced by Adam Lallana for the rest of the game.
The Egyptian federation said Salah began his rehabilitation programme on Sunday, and was in "high spirits" and "determined to return quickly to the ranks of the team".
Salah was instrumental to Egypt's qualification, scoring the penalty that sealed their place in the Mundial for the first time since 1990.
Salah now looks likely to miss out on Egypt's World Cup campaign next month, despite playing an important role in helping them qualify for their first tournament since 1990.
