A fiery explosion on a small tour boat in the Bahamas killed one person and injured nine others on Saturday, authorities said.
Maleka Grimes Jackson, 39, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, who was on the vacation to celebrate her anniversary with her husband, Tiran, was killed in the blaze on Saturday. Also among the injured was 22-year-old Stefanie Schaffer, a dancer and athlete who had both legs amputated after the blast, NBC News reports.

Stefanie's mother, Stacey, sustained serious injuries, while her stepfather Paul Bender and her sister Brooke escaped with cuts and bruises. The explosion caused the entire ship to catch fire, according to a police statement.
Four of the injured Americans on the boat were immediately airlifted to a hospital in St Petersburg, Florida with the help of the US Coastguard after the explosion. It shows people jumping "into the shallow water in an attempt to rescue passengers in the burning boat", according to ABC News.
Schaffer's brother, George, posted on Facebook about the incident. "We are saddened and our hearts are hurting, but we will get through this together", Bahamas parliament member Chester Cooper posted on Facebook, according to CNN.
