Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk could be facing a lawsuit from the British cave diver who found and helped rescue 12 Thai schoolboys and their soccer coach who got trapped in flooded caves in the country.
The comment about the caverwas far from the first Twitter outburst for Musk, who is fond of talking about tweeting on Ambien.
"Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it", he added, completely out of the blue. In an interview last week, Musk said he was reforming from his belief that Twitter was a no-holds-barred battleground where "if you attack me, it is therefore okay for me to attack back".
Musk's tweets have rattled investors, sending the stock down more than 16% since last month, at a time when bears are increasingly skeptical that the firm can continue to sustain operations without raising more cash.
Unsworth, 63, who lives in Thailand, was among the first divers on the scene in Mae Sai after the boys from the Wild Boars football team and their coach became trapped inside on 23 June. Only people in sight were the Thai navy/army guys, who were great. "Twitter might keep Tesla in the news, but won't help continued improvements in production and product".
Stocks slump, yen rises as USA raises stakes in trade conflict
The initial USA tariff list focused on Chinese industrial products in an attempt to limit the impact on American consumers. The new trade frictions sent investors running for cover, with equity markets across Asia tumbling more than one percent.
"I believe he's called me a pedophile".
Claus Rasmussen, a Danish national and instructor at Blue Label diving in Phuket, called the allegations "inappropriate" and praised Unsworth's role in the rescue.
Last week, before the boys were successfully retrieved, Thai official Narongsak Osotthanakorn, who was in charge of the rescue mission's command center, said that Musk's miniature submarine was "not practical with our mission" though he thought the submarine was "technologically sophisticated".
The only relatable thing about mega-rich tech entrepreneur Elon Musk is the fact that he also likes Grimes - and that, despite his busy schedule, he still has time to tweet utterly inane shite. "Bet ya a signed dollar it's true", Musk said when someone challenged him on such an outrageous claim.
"He had no conception of what the cave passage was like", Unsworth said in the interview. The spelunker did not necessarily disagree when reporters asked for his reaction to the pedophile comments.
James Anderson, one of the largest shareholders in Tesla, told the Guardian that he planned to convey his concerns to the company. Meanwhile, CEO of Brian Communications Brian Tierney said Musk is "not showing the kind of discipline of someone going to manufacture hundreds of thousands of cars".
