The Dallas Cowboys reportedly made a big trade offer for a star National Football League player in advance of the 2018 regular season.
The Seahawks insist they are not willing to give away Thomas, who has held out of training camp because of his contract, a source told Schefter on Saturday.
With all hope of him being on a new team, under a new contract seemingly lost, Thomas took to Instagram to announce he was going to report to the Seahawks. The Cowboys' current starting safeties are Xavier Woods and Jeff Heath, so Thomas would clearly be a major upgrade for that secondary.
Conner's development an antidote for Bell's absence
In 2017, Bell did not take part in any off-season activities during his first year on the franchise tag . Bell signed his tender on Labor Day last season and was ready in time for the opener.
Shortly after, Thomas revealed on Instagram that he would be returning to the Seahawks and ending his holdout. "Or trade me to a team that wants me to be part of their future", he wrote. Seattle has reportedly fielded offers. With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten.
That has led to a stalemate that has had Seattle entertaining trade offers for Thomas since last spring.
Ian Rapoport said "until something changes, Thomas is not expected to report and play for Seattle".
Thomas is a three-time first-team All-Pro and was the anchor for the Seattle defence that appeared in consecutive Super Bowls, winning the first. "Father Time may have an undefeated record but best believe I plan on taking him into triple overtime when it comes to my career".
