Winfrey, who took the stage to booming applause, said she wanted to come to Georgia to support Abrams because she saw how Abrams is "handling herself" amid an onslaught of "haters".
"For anybody here who has an ancestor who didn't have the right to vote, and you are choosing not to vote - wherever you are in this state, in this country - you are dishonoring your family", Winfrey said in Marietta, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb. "And I want you to know that their blood has seeped into my DNA and I refuse to let their sacrifices be in vain".
He said that Winfrey's comments about voter suppression, in particular, will resonate in a state where that has been a concern in the past.
He did not have a negative comment for Winfrey. "I am here today because Stacey Abrams cares about the things that matter". Vice President Mike Pence is campaigning for Abrams' Republican opponent, Brian Kemp, at three events. "I'm not trying to test any waters", she said.
Oprah Winfrey campaigned for Abrams earlier Thursday.

Claiming that Abrams is "bankrolled by Hollywood liberals", he blasted Oprah Winfrey's appearance with the Democrat at a pair of town halls in metro Atlanta, as well as actor Will Ferrell's recent campaign appearance in Georgia.
"I'd like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell, I'm kind of a big deal, too", Pence said, in an apparent reference to a line from Ferrell's hit 2004 film, "Anchorman".
More than 1.5 million of the state's nearly seven million registered voters have cast ballots already. "And to vote for myself", Winfrey said to cheers.
"I absolutely am voting for her", Denise replied.
"And I've got a message for all of Stacey Abrams's liberal Hollywood friends: This ain't Hollywood", he added.
