Typically after incidents like this week's shooting, regular Americans, politicians, and celebrities offer their "thoughts and prayers" to the victims, which has turned the phrase into a meme about inaction on gun control. And possibly it was just an individual being overwhelmed by PTSD. The shooting comes on the heels of the deadly anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which killed 11 people in late October. "Blake, I love you so much, and miss you more than you can imagine".
At a music festival previous year in Las Vegas, Telemachus Orfanos survived the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Julie Hanson, who lives next door to the ranch-style home that Long shared with his mother, described him as "odd" and "disrespectful" well before he left home a decade ago, got married and enlisted in the Marines. I want gun control and I hope to God nobody else sends me anymore prayers!
They also were concerned that Long might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, Dean said, "basing that (on) the fact that he was a veteran and had been in the Corps".
Investigators have not established a motive for the shooting or an indication of any connection to terrorism and knew of nothing that connected Long to the Borderline Bar and Grill.
VCCF Board Chair, Scott Hansen said, "We are at a loss for words but not actions".
One possibility was that he resented comments from classmates and others about a "lazy eye" condition he experienced for a time. "I gotta go on a call, '" Sheriff Geoff Dean said.

A gunman opened fire Wednesday evening inside a country music bar, killing 12 people.
Authorities were searching the shooter's home. Long was found to be "somewhat irate" and "acting a little irrationally" but he wasn't taken into custody.
One officer said his social media, accessed through his cell phone, consisted of rantings. But people were trampled as panicking dancers and others in the bar smashed windows in order to escape as the shots rang out.
A man holds his head in his hands outside the bar following the shooting. "Very, very lucky to be on my two feet".
Patrons at the bar screamed in fear, shouted "Get down!" and used barstools to smash second-floor windows and jump to safety as gunfire erupted at the Borderline Bar & Grill, a hangout popular with students from nearby California Lutheran University.
The shooter's body was found in an office later. He served as a machine gunner and earned the rank of corporal in August 2011.
It's not clear whether the gunman committed suicide at the scene in Thousand Oaks.
He later went to college but eventually dropped out. Years after a divorce and a discharge and months after shouting brought a mental health expert to his door, Long killed 12 people at a country music bar outside Los Angeles. Long reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
