The deputy national security adviser and top aide to national security adviser John Bolton was subject Tuesday to reports of her potential ouster from the White House, and even a declaration by first lady Melania Trump that the deputy adviser no longer deserved to serve.
This comes just days after President Trump reportedly cancelled Nielsen's trip to the southern border, where she was supposed to meet with military personnel who are awaiting the incoming migrant caravans.
During a panel discussion Tuesday, host Jake Tapper cited a Wall Street Journal report that revealed the only people who feel secure in their jobs at the White House are related to the president.
A homeland security spokesman would not comment on whether she was leaving. However, before this mysterious quarrel, Ricardel had publicly feuded over hirings with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, even before she became deputy national security adviser.

How does all this relate to chief of staff John Kelly? But now the president is considering getting rid of both them, the source said.

Zinke, who faces several ethics investigations, said in interview with The Associated Press on Monday that he has spoken in recent days with Trump, Pence and Kelly about probes into his leadership and they remain supportive.
Nielsen has been in the White House for less than a year and has spent her time focusing on a number of issues, including border security.
Nielsen had previously been Kelly's deputy, and kicking her to the curb could be a way for Trump to rid himself of Kelly too.
Bolton is now traveling in Asia with Vice President Mike Pence.
