Fidelity National Title Group Announces Strategic Partnership With NextAce To Produce Title Reports In As Little As One Hour

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Fidelity National Title Group, Inc. (NYSE: FNT), the nation’s largest title insurance company and a majority-owned, publicly traded subsidiary of Fidelity National Financial, Inc. (NYSE: FNF), today announced a strategic partnership with automated title software and service provider NextAce(SM) to significantly improve delivery speed of title reports.

With NextAce’s Title EDGE(SM) “software as a service” (SaaS) offering, FNT’s five leading title insurance underwriters — Fidelity National Title, Chicago Title, Ticor Title, Security Union Title and Alamo Title — will be able to reduce the time to deliver a title report from approximately 48 hours to as little as one hour.

“By automating the title process, Title EDGE offers a powerful technology solution that will significantly enhance our ability to create new levels of speed and efficiency in the title process,” said Randy Quirk, FNT’s Chief Executive Officer.

Title insurance protects lenders and anyone purchasing or refinancing property against any known or unknown title defects. Lenders need quick, efficient searches of property titles provided through a preliminary title report or commitment to reach loan decisions. Through software automation and smart market partnerships with lenders, escrow companies and title branches, NextAce is able to reduce the production time and cost associated with preliminary title reports and commitments by eliminating hours of manual labor and reducing overhead costs for every order processed through Title EDGE. As a result, the closing process becomes faster, simpler and more cost-efficient.

“We are honored to be a strategic partner with the industry’s largest title insurance company,” said NextAce CEO Don Cantral. “With Title EDGE, Fidelity National Title Group and its customers are assured improved order turn times, lower costs and greater accuracy. Fidelity National Title Group’s adoption of this software service is a strong indicator of the significant impact automation is having on the title industry.”

Real Estate Attorneys To Help Thousands Of At-Risk Homeowners In 2009

ATG’s unique nonprofit partnership, foreclosure-prevention services and cash contributions to nonprofit organizations helping thousands.

CHICAGO — During 2009, one of the worst housing markets on record, Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. (ATG) and its member attorneys, made a significant financial and time commitment to assist struggling and at-risk homeowners.

ATG forged a unique partnership in early 2009 with Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS) to co-sponsor several “Fix-Your-Mortgage” foreclosure-prevention events. ATG’s other main effort to help those negatively impacted by the housing downturn included a considerable cash contribution to four different nonprofit organizations/foundations.

ATG, the only bar-related title insurance company based in Illinois, plans in 2010 to continue devoting the majority of its charitable efforts to helping at-risk homeowners.

“The downturn in the economy and housing market this year put a lot of people at risk for losing their homes to foreclosures,” said Peter Birnbaum, ATG’s president. “By donating money, and mobilizing and training hundreds of real estate attorneys to volunteer their weekends at these important, free outreach events, we feel ATG and its members were part of the solution.”

Foreclosure-Prevention Events

Through their productive partnership, ATG and NHS sponsored and held three successful “Fix-Your-Mortgage” events in 2009 - two in Chicago and one in Cicero, Illinois. The City of Chicago was also a co-sponsor of the two events in Chicago. NHS assisted ATG in helping to set up and execute similar events in Peoria, Illinois and in Madison, Wisconsin.

ATG recruited, trained and volunteered hundreds of real estate attorneys to counsel at-risk homeowners at these events and help them apply for loan modifications to fixed-rate loans through the federal government’s “Making Home Affordable” foreclosure-prevention program.

Approximately 3,000 at-risk homeowners attended and received foreclosure-prevention help at the five events ATG co-sponsored in 2009.

“Nearly 33 percent of attendees at the first two events in Chicago were approved for trial modifications by their banks, compared to the national average of 20 percent of loan-modification applicants receiving approval,” explained Michael van Zalingen, director of homeownership services at NHS.

“Getting help from volunteer real estate attorneys proved to increase homeowners’ chances of success,” van Zalingen said. “We would never have been able to reach and help so many people without the outstanding support and partnering NHS received from ATG. This unique partnership brings together the best of the private and nonprofit sectors. We look forward to continuing our joint efforts in 2010.”

Cash Donations / Partners in Giving

During 2009, ATG donated cash to four organizations committed to helping residents and homeowners hit hardest by the depressed housing market. These groups include:

Denis Pierce, a long time member of ATG, also has a strong charitable focus. He established his family foundation in 2007, which supports many not-for-profit agencies dealing with housing and homelessness issues, (http://www.piercefamilyfoundation.org). As with ATG, the law firm of Pierce & Associates is also a major supporter of NHS and The Cara Program. Pierce helped build the relationship between NHS and ATG.

In addition, representatives of ATG, Pierce and Associates, Codilis & Associates and NHS sit on the Cook County Chancery Court Foreclosure Advisory Panel. They are currently developing recommendations for the Court including how to deploy a $3.5 million appropriation from the County to help at-risk homeowners.

Adds Established National Title Insurance Agency with Multiple Locations Across the US for Expansion of Cyclical Products and Services to the Real Estate and Mortgage Industries

PLANTATION, Fla. — DJSP Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: DJSP, DJSPW, DJSPU), one of the largest providers of processing services for the mortgage and real estate industries in the United States, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Timios, Inc., a national title insurance and settlement services company. Timios is a licensed title insurance and escrow agent operating in 38 States. Headquartered in Westlake Village, CA, with additional offices in Houston and Plano, Texas, Timios will provide DJSP Enterprises the capability to provide its customers a balanced portfolio of services including new loan origination, refinance and national REO closing and title. Additionally, Timios handles national loss mitigation services and pre-foreclosure title products from its multiple locations strategically placed for time-zone sensitive fulfillment.

Management expects that Timios, which uses advanced technology to produce a paperless environment, will aid DJSP Enterprises in its commitment to provide its customers with enhanced customer service in all lines of its business as it expands nationally. Timios presently services purchase money, refinance, reverse mortgage, REO and Deed-In-Lieu transactions for some of the largest lenders and servicers nationwide. Last year, Timios closed in excess of $500 million in residential real estate mortgage transactions, and as forecasted, is expected to more than double the volume in 2010. In addition, Timios has the capability to complete title searches for DJSP Enterprises’ growing REO liquidation business and loss mitigation business outside of Florida.

DJSP Enterprises will maintain Timios’ three offices while consolidating operations and back-office functions to streamline and reduce expenses.

David J. Stern, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DJSP Enterprises commented, “This acquisition significantly expands our capacity to effectively handle national services for our current client base. In addition it will support our cyclical expansion into other lines of the mortgage services business. In particular, our capacity to process national REO closings, refinance transactions, short-sale transactions, Deed in Lieu transactions, property reports, resale transactions, and multiple valuation products will be meaningfully expanded. Timios provides licenses for full settlement services in 38 states and we expect to obtain licenses in at least two additional states before the end of this year.

This acquisition further demonstrates our commitment to becoming the leading cyclical provider of products and services to the real estate and mortgage industries.”

“This transaction represents a great marriage of strengths and assets,” said Trevor Stoffer, president and CEO of Timios, Inc. “Our management teams could not ignore the obvious benefits to both organizations. DJSP Enterprises’ growth in the foreclosure space and our best in class technology and servicing of originations will create a very balanced portfolio. In addition, the financial support from DJSP Enterprises will allow Timios to grow from a boutique services company to a major player in settlement services with a complete offering for lenders.”

DJSP Enterprises will acquire Timios for $1.5 million in cash, 200,000 ordinary shares of DJSP Enterprises, and up to 100,000 ordinary shares of DJSP Enterprises to be earned upon achievement of defined performance metrics. Timios had revenue of $5.05 million for the last 12 months and DJSP Enterprises expects this acquisition to be accretive to earnings by the 3rd Quarter 2010.

Piper Rudnick And Gray Cary Announce Merger

Combination Creates One of the Largest, Most Diversified Law Firms in the U.S. With 1,300 Lawyers, 20 Offices and $800 Million in Revenue

SILICON VALLEY, Calif., CHICAGO and BALTIMORE, Oct. 19 - Piper Rudnick LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms, and Gray Cary Ware and Freidenrich LLP, a premier technology law firm, today announced a merger that will create one of the largest, most diversified law firms in the United States. The new firm will be named “Piper Rudnick Gray Cary LLP.”

With more than 1,300 lawyers, the combined firm will become one of the 10 largest law firms in the U.S. The firm will have 20 offices located in leading business and technology markets throughout the country and projected revenues for 2004 that will approach $800 million, which would have placed the merged firm sixth in last year’s AmLaw 100, which ranks U.S. law firms based on revenues.

The merger, which takes effect on January 1, 2005, was announced jointly by Piper Rudnick’s co-chairs, Francis B. Burch Jr., and Lee I. Miller, and Gray Cary’s chairman and CEO, J. Terence O’Malley.

The merger combines the 380 lawyers from Gray Cary, a firm well known for representing clients in corporate and securities, intellectual property and complex litigation matters, with the 1,000 lawyers from Piper Rudnick, a firm widely known for its real estate, litigation, business and technology, and government affairs practices. The combination results in a litigation department that will be one of the nation’s largest and most experienced at trying complex litigation, including commercial and patent law disputes. It also accelerates the growth of Piper Rudnick’s business and technology practice, which will have notably stronger capacity to represent clients of all sizes, from emerging companies to Fortune 100 corporations, particularly in the technology industry.

“This merger represents an important milestone in our strategic plan,” said Burch and Miller, co-chairs of Piper Rudnick, in a joint statement. “Gray Cary’s core areas of practice, talented attorneys, and presence in key locations fit perfectly into our client-driven plans for growth. Their corporate and litigation strengths complement our own, so collectively, we are well positioned to meet the increasingly complex and global legal needs of our clients.”

“Like Piper Rudnick, we represent sophisticated clients that provide sophisticated products and services throughout the U.S. and across international markets,” explained O’Malley. “This merger enables us to offer them comprehensive legal services in areas that are of critical importance to their business.

O’Malley added that having a presence in New York, Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago, where Piper Rudnick now has offices, will give Gray Cary’s clients and the firm’s attorneys immediate proximity to important financial centers, capital markets, and additional venues where complex cases are litigated. He also cited an expanded presence in Washington D.C., where Piper Rudnick has a substantial part of its well established legislative and regulatory practice, as advantageous to the firm’s clients who find themselves at the intersection of technology and regulatory issues in the post 9-11 business environment.

Response from clients to the merged firm’s capabilities is expected to be very positive. “Gray Cary and Piper Rudnick have combined their substantial individual competencies and wide ranging expertise into a powerful global platform capable of serving global organizations like ours and the companies we work with in a multitude of ways. We look forward to strengthening our long-standing partnerships with these great firms now that they have joined forces to create this enhanced set of capabilities,” said Bob Grady, Managing Director and global head of venture capital at the Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest private equity firms.

The combined firm will comprise a set of top caliber, national legal practices in the areas of:

- Corporate and Securities/M&A — The merger will instantly create a leading corporate finance practice with more than 250 attorneys. Based on completed deals, the merged firm would have ranked second in the country for “Completed U.S. M&A transactions” in the Thomson Financial tables.

- Litigation — The combined firm creates a litigation department with more than 550 attorneys in offices throughout the country working on patent, securities, trade regulation, commercial, product liability, class action, white collar, financial services/insurance and other litigation work. The firm would rank seventh in the U.S. for the number of patent litigation cases filed in 2003, according to data compiled by American Lawyer Media.

- Real Estate — With Piper Rudnick already widely recognized as the nation’s preeminent real estate law firm, the combined firm would have more than 200 attorneys focused on real estate matters through the addition of 30 Gray Cary attorneys focusing in this area.

- Intellectual Property — The merged firm will have nearly 200 attorneys heavily focused on IP matters, including patents, copyrights and trademarks, media and advertising. The merged firm will have more than 60 attorneys focusing on patent and trademark prosecution, 60 attorneys with copyright law experience and nearly 80 patent litigators.

- Government Affairs — Building upon Piper Rudnick’s existing position as one of the top government affairs law firms in the U.S., the merged firm will have more than 180 attorneys operating out of the Washington D.C. office, including Senator George Mitchell, Congressman Dick Armey and Governor James Blanchard among a host of other political leaders.

The office will become the second largest within the firm’s network while hosting sophisticated practices that include antitrust, communications, environmental, international trade, government controversies, legislative affairs, government contracts, and electronic commerce and privacy.

“As two firms that are each the product of successful mergers in the past, both Piper Rudnick and Gray Cary approached this deal with a sharp focus on making sure there was a cultural fit,” Burch added. “Both Piper Rudnick and Gray Cary have collegial, open and consensus-based cultures. Both share a deep commitment to pro bono and public service. Both invest heavily in training and developing their lawyers. We will continue to emphasize those values, enabling us to provide a stimulating and rewarding working environment for our lawyers and staff.”

Building on National Growth and Momentum

According to Burch and Miller, Piper Rudnick’s continued expansion in California has been a central part of the firm’s strategic growth plan to build core practices areas in key regions of strategic importance to clients. The merger allows both firms to expand existing client relationships and provides a strong platform for developing new regional and national client relationships.

NEW YORK, NY- Want to own land in Kansas, but you are on a budget? Well here is the opportunity that you’ve been waiting for. Scott Moger, a native New Yorker, founded a company that is growing “inch by inch” in the truest sense of the words. A Web surfer who visits Moger’s “Own a Piece of America” website can become the proud owner of land in Osborne County for as little as $3.95. Yeah sure it’s small, only a square inch, but the deed is full sized with the customer’s or gift recipient’s name on it…and that’s what counts.

Moger, president of American Acres, is quick to point out that “these Kansas ‘mini-estates’ can’t be built on, lived on or retired on. Owners cannot make any improvements or develop the parcels. Owners shall not occupy the parcels and must grant rights of ingress and egress over their parcel. But they are completely free of additional responsibility and obligations. And the fun of bragging about owning land in Kansas is priceless, to say the least!” And oh, what a wonderful Christmas gift it makes! Just go to http://www.ownapieceofamerica.us and see for yourself.

This Christmas promotion is not limited to Kansas. One-Inch parcels of land in all the other states are available too…”from sea to shining sea” as well as one 50 State Deed, entitling the purchaser to claim legal ownership to land in all 50 states at one time…on one legal document.

The project has taken over 10 years to put together with Moger purchasing the land, one acre at a time, state by state. After a lengthy and challenging process for Mr. Moger, a “no action” letter was issue by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as well as the Attorney General of New York State stating that the deeds were legal to be sold…as novelty items and not as investments and that owners cannot resell them for profit or benefit financially in any way.

Although use of the tiny parcels of land may be limited in scope, the responsibilities are equally minimal. No paying taxes of any kind…ever! Owners need not mow their lawn, take out the trash, throw away junk mail, participate in local jury duty, or endure any other daily adversities associated with being a land owner.

Never before has something so small become so big. Land from Moger’s “Own A Piece Of America” program has been sold around the world in China, Japan, India, Germany, Spain, The United Kingdom, Canada, of course the USA and many other countries.

Both the individual State Deed and the 50 State Deed (the “Deed to the United States”) entitle bearers to ownership in the form of a quit claim deed with each parcel being approximately one-square inch or a 6,272,640th undivided interest in each one acre property (the exact number of inches in an acre). The location of the land is indicated on the 50 State Deed, the land is listed in Property Location Booklet.

Also as indicated on the website http://www.OwnAPieceofAmerica.us, “owners won’t have to pay taxes of any kind…ever, and will not be required to mow, pick up trash, or comply with any local, state or federal regulations.”

Mr. Moger continued “a ‘Deed to the United States’ is really a unique Christmas gift which is perfect for everyone. Adults, children - especially the ‘person who has everything’ - are sure to be thrilled with this unusual opportunity to own a piece of America. It’s also ideal for Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, graduation, retirement or even the Fourth of July.”

Paralegal Sentenced To Three Years In Prison For Role In Multimillion-Dollar Mortgage Fraud And Foreclosure Rescue Schemes

NEW YORK — Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Marina Dubin, a real estate paralegal, was sentenced yesterday to two concurrent three-year prison sentences in connection with her involvement in a multimillion-dollar, sub-prime mortgage fraud scheme and another foreclosure rescue scheme. Dubin, 33, of Brooklyn, New York, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud on June 12, 2008, before United States District Judge Richard J. Holwell, who also imposed the sentence yesterday in Manhattan federal court.

According to the Indictment, other documents filed in these and related cases, and statements made in court:

The Mortgage Fraud Scheme

From 2004 through January 2007, Dubin was a paralegal who acted as the bank attorney and settlement agent for numerous loans obtained by the participants in a wide-ranging mortgage fraud scheme. The scheme was led by Aleksander Lipkin, 31, of Brooklyn, New York, and other participants included mortgage brokers and loan processors who worked at the Brooklyn mortgage brokerage firm AGA Capital NY, Inc. (“AGA Capital”) and its successors, as well as real estate appraisers, loan account executives, a lawyer, straw buyers, and others. Dubin and her co-defendants submitted loan applications containing false information and material omissions, as well as other false documentation such as bank statements, to obtain loans that otherwise would not have been funded.

During the course of the mortgage fraud scheme, AGA Capital and its successors brokered over 1,000 home mortgages and home equity loans with a total face value of at least $200 million dollars and earned at least $4 million in commission fees on those loans. The various lenders defrauded by the scheme have claimed actual losses of approximately $11.6 million on loans that have completed foreclosure.

Of the 27 defendants charged in this case (United States v. Aleksander Lipkin, et al.), 25 pleaded guilty; one of the defendants, attorney Alexander Kaplan, 35, of Brooklyn, New York, was found guilty following a jury trial and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 6, 2010.

Garri Zhigun, 33, of Brooklyn, New York, who supervised the operations of AGA Capital and was Lipkin’s business partner, was sentenced on May 28, 2009, by Judge HOLWELL to 100 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and was ordered to forfeit $2.5 million and pay approximately $11.6 million in restitution.

The Foreclosure Rescue Scheme

From November 2003 through April 2005, Maurice McDowall, 55, of Brooklyn, New York, Lipkin and Durbin engaged in a fraud scheme targeting homeowners whose homes, primarily in Brooklyn and Bronx, New York, were in foreclosure or facing foreclosure, by offering them a plan to “save” their homes. The proposed plan included the refinancing of the homeowners’ debt with new, larger mortgages. Because the distressed homeowners typically had poor credit and were not eligible to refinance their debt at favorable terms, the defendants induced them to “sell” their homes to straw buyers, who would apply for loans to be used to “save” the home. The defendants promised that once the straw buyer obtained the mortgage, the proceeds would be used to pay off the homeowners’ old debt and make one year’s worth of payments on the new loans. The homeowners were told that, during that year, they could continue to live in their homes and work on improving their finances and credit. Finally, the defendants explained to the homeowners that, at the end of the year, the title to their homes would be returned to them by the straw buyers, with their credit repaired and their homes saved. There were also cases in which the defendants did not explain to homeowners that the plan to “save” their home required them to deed their house to a third party and did not obtain permission to deed the homes to others. In such cases, the defendants effectively stole the property of the homeowners by forging the homeowners’ signatures on various documents that transferred the homes to straw buyers without the homeowners’ knowledge.

McDowall, who directed the daily operations of the scheme, and Lipkin, a mortgage broker who coordinated the submission of fraudulent information to lenders on behalf of straw buyers, obtained more than 80 home mortgages and/or equity loans valued at over $20 million. In some instances, the defendants failed to make even one payment on the loans, causing the loans to default immediately; in nearly every other case, they eventually failed to make the payments and defaulted on the loans, thereby “cashing out” on the properties. As a result, the distressed homeowners lost the titles to their homes and faced eviction, the straw buyers owed the lenders hundreds of thousands of dollars that they were unable to repay, and the lenders suffered losses from the defaulted loans.

Dubin served as the settlement agent for the vast majority of the fraudulent loans obtained in the course of the scheme. In that capacity, she organized closings, prepared documents, and disbursed the fraudulently obtained proceeds to various defendants.

McDowall was previously sentenced by United States District Judge Robert P. Patterson to 120 months in prison and three years of supervised release, with 100 hours of community service to be performed in the first year after release. In addition, Judge Patterson ordered McDowall to forfeit $2.5 million.

Of the three other defendants charged in this case, one pleaded guilty and the other two were found guilty on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and bank fraud, following a 12-day jury trial in Manhattan federal court.

Lipkin was sentenced by Judge Holwell for his role in both the mortgage fraud scheme and the foreclosure rescue scheme (United States v. Maurice McDowall, et al.) on June 4, 2009, to 110 months in prison, five years of supervised release, and was ordered to forfeit $7 million and pay approximately $11.6 million in restitution.

In addition to the 36-month prison term, Dubin was sentenced to 3 years of supervised release. Judge Holwell also ordered Dubin to forfeit $7 million and pay approximately $11.6 million in restitution.

Mr. Bharara praised the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New York City Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He also thanked the New York State Attorney General’s Office for its role in the investigation.

This case was brought in coordination with President Barack Obama’s Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force, on which Mr. Bharara serves as a Co-Chair of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Working Group. President Obama established the interagency Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force to wage an aggressive, coordinated, and proactive effort to investigate and prosecute financial crimes. The task force includes representatives from a broad range of federal agencies, regulatory authorities, inspectors general, and state and local law enforcement who, working together, bring to bear a powerful array of criminal and civil enforcement resources. The task force is working to improve efforts across the federal executive branch, and with state and local partners, to investigate and prosecute significant financial crimes, ensure just and effective punishment for those who perpetrate financial crimes, combat discrimination in the lending and financial markets, and recover proceeds for victims of financial crimes.

This case is being prosecuted by the Office’s Organized Crime Unit. Assistant United States Attorneys Jonathan B. New, Avi Weitzman, Julian J. Moore, and John T. Zach are in charge of the prosecutions.

Florida Class Action Filed In BP Oil Spill Disaster

Gulf Actions Spill Counsel (GASP), a national team of prominent attorneys, allege multiple failures by BP, Halliburton and other Defendants

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — As the devastating BP oil spill increasingly threatens Florida’s fishing, maritime and tourism industries, a team of nationally known attorneys led by Tallahassee lawyer and Northeastern University Professor P. Tim Howard last night filed an amended complaint in one of the first Florida class action lawsuits over the sinking of the oil rig Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico.

First filed last Friday in the U.S. District Court in Tallahassee on April 30, the amended complaint in Ward, et. al. v. BP, et.al. (N.D. Fla., Case No. 4:10-cv-00157-SPM-WCS), alleges gross negligence, willful misconduct and other claims in the design, construction and operation of the rig, as well as in the response to the disaster. The case has been assigned to Chief Judge Stephan P. Mickle.

Among the plaintiffs are George Weems Ward, who lives in East Point, Florida, on Apalachicola Bay near Panama City. Mr. Ward earns his living as a guide fisherman, shrimper, and oysterman. He is joined by plaintiff Jeff Galloway, who lives on nearby St. George Island, where he works as a real estate broker. A third lead plaintiff in the class action is Constance Ward (no relation to Mr. Ward), who owns property in Cape San Blas, Florida, also just south of Panama City.

Panama City and its beaches are among those expected to be directly impacted by the oil slick as it moves onshore. Panama City Beach is routinely named one of the world’s most beautiful beaches by sources such as CNN, Money Magazine and Conde Nast Traveler.

The defendants include various divisions of oil giant BP (formerly British Petroleum), Transocean, Ltd. (the owners/operators of the Deepwater Horizon), Halliburton Energy (which was involved in “cementing” operations to cap the oil rig when the explosion occurred) and Cameron International Corporation (manufacturers of the rig’s blow-out-preventers, which failed to operate properly and prevent the oil spill).

Similar lawsuits are planned for Texas, Alabama and Mississippi, as the devastation from the oil rig disaster continues to grow.

“Oil continues to flow into the gulf, and with it an environmental nightmare,” said Dr. Howard, who most recently played a leading role in coordinating a national team of more than 40 law firms in the Toyota sudden acceleration lawsuits. “This unmitigated horror threatens to destroy one of the most beautiful marine, coastal and estuarine environments in the world.”

In addition to their work in the Toyota litigation, Dr. Howard and his team are known for expertise in a variety of consumer law and product liability cases. Howard coordinated the legal team in the Florida tobacco lawsuit in the 1990s that led to a $20 billion settlement with the State of Florida and a national settlement of $250 billion, and is currently co-counsel representing 3,600 victims of cigarette-related diseases in Florida. Among the attorneys joining Dr. Howard on the lawsuit are:

In 2009 alone, his firm represented plaintiffs in separate settlements of $1.4 billion against Eli Lilly and $2.3 billion against Pfizer, and just last month, Sheller, P.C. was lead counsel in a $520 million qui tam action against AstraZeneca. Sheller, P.C., attorney Kenneth W. Smith is licensed in Florida and Mississippi.
  • James F. Haggerty of The Law Offices of James F. Haggerty, an attorney internationally known for his work with public communications, regulatory and legislative issues during litigation. Based In New York, Haggerty is also licensed to practice in Florida and has a background in environmental and energy issues.
