How they found REJO: Twitter

Background:

When retired U.S. Marine Chris Francis first encountered SargesList.com, he felt like he had finally found a “home” for his real estate business that would enable him to truly and effectively give back to the military community. “We knew right away that we were a match,” he says, praising the site’s efforts to give back to the military community by facilitating communications and transactions – real estate and otherwise – between military members. SargesList is the newest and first local to global military classified site helping military members meet their unique needs during transition.

SargesList was originally developed to help service members find others in similar situations and has grown to a global community ideally suited for the needs of the moving military member or military family. “Many military members prefer to deal within their own community, and we provide a trusted venue where they can do that as they deal with the often-complicated and emotional process involved in a permanent change of station,” explains Klinkhammer, adding that many of the homes listed on the site are, in a sense, “designed” with the military mover in mind since they will often come with needed appliances and household items that families engaged in a more conventional move might take with them.

Insights:

Service members moving overseas often end up “purging” household items, finding homes for pets, locating jobs for their spouses and many other things that do not go with a “normal” move.

No one moves more than the military, and in order to work with moving military members, it helps to have some knowledge and insight about how military moves work.

Military personnel typically find housing before they move. As Beth Albert, a military wife and realtor explains, “Through SargesList, I have the ability to reach out and help inbound military before they arrive in the area, which is typically difficult to do before they arrive.”

Listings like this property in Bavaria are customized on SargesList to provide relevant information and fast sales for service members who may be moving overseas.

Anyone can use SargesList, but the system does give users with a military email on their account “Sarge’s Stamp of Approval,” a paw print, so that military members can identify each other. “This lets all users in the system know that they are dealing with a verified member of the U.S. military who has dedicated their life to preserving our freedom,” says Klinkhammer, adding that she hopes that the service “makes life easier for all of our men and women and families in uniform.”

Parting Thoughts:

“It is worth noting that SargesList and the SargesList team is helping the U.S. government save some serious money right now. The federal government spends millions in storing and moving unwanted / unneeded items for our Armed Forces and the more that can be sold during the process, the better for the finances of the families and the government. “Our goal is that SargesList will help save military members and the government millions of dollars so that everybody wins.”

SargesList is a veteran-owned company that employs many active-duty military spouses and veterans.
